Sesame and Peppercorn Marinade for Tuna Steaks

Try this savoury peppercorn marinade on Toppits Tuna Steaks.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Sesame oil

3 tablespoons of coarse ground peppercorns

Salt to taste

1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce

Optional: White and black sesame seeds and Wasabi sauce

Directions:

  1. Remove the steaks from vacuum package before thawing. Thaw covered in refrigerator overnight.

  2. Coat each side of the Tuna Steaks with sesame oil.

  3. Mix up the ground peppercorns and salt (and sesame seeds if added) and spread the mixture out on a small plate. Dip each steak onto the mixture to form a crust on each side. Add more of the mixture if required.

  4. Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Sear the Tuna Steaks on each side for about 2-3 minutes, turn the fish over and cook additional 2-3 minutes. Let stand for 2-3 minutes. If you like your steak to be less rare, cook longer on the grill to your desired doneness.

  5. Serve with soy sauce (and wasabi sauce).
